Oh, the angst! These two … my heart just ached.

Lucas with his scars and hurts left over from growing up in a house where he didn’t fit in, where his father never understood or loved him. So heartbreaking, I just can’t! But he’s strong, even with his baggage he’s finding his own way.

Hunter is struggling with moving on from the death of his boyfriend, holding on to so much guilt it’s impacting his life. Being with Lucas again has him feeling things that he isn’t sure how to handle. And I’m here for every complex, nuanced moment.

They struggle, not with how they feel but with the impact it will have if anyone finds out. Especially Lucas’s dad and that’s just so hard because they fit together so well. The Comeback King is messy and emotional and scorching and so satisfying – delving into grief, family dynamics, and how much & what we owe to the people we love.
