Iβm not sure how to describeΒ Hitched!Β without giving too much away. Β Hereβs the official line from the publisher:
George may be the rebel of the prestigious Challoner family, but his insanely good looks are giving Frith wedding fever! Charm personified, heβs making her feel things she hasnβt dared feel before. Maybe her little sisterβs wedding wonβt be the only one Frithβs planningβ¦?β
But that isnβt quite the way Iβd describe it. Β The first part isnβt too far off β Firth is asked to help with her sisterβs wedding and it is definitely a celebrity to do. Β Sheβs not used to high society so sheβs out of her element. Β George Challenor does get involved but it isnβt quite as they describe. Β Itβs a little more complicated and definitely half the fun of the book. Β The second part just doesnβt fall in line with the way the book plays out. Β And it is definitely more complex for it.
I really liked seeing George and Firth interact. Β They both have a lot of baggage and it was enjoyable watching them come to terms with themselves and each other. Β Firth has a lot of self-esteem and trust issues so Georgeβs excessive charm and flirtatious sense of fun definitely rubs her the wrong way. Β But Georgeβs lighthearted side hides some deep scars of his own. Β Hart does a great job of giving readers a complex and troubled hero that still has a lot to offer his heroine. Β And I thought the ending was one of the best Iβve seen from a Harlequin story in a lot time. Β I think it fit very well with the characters as they were depicted.
Harlequin describes their Kiss line as Β fun, flirty and sensual. Β Hitchd!Β is all of those but it also offers readers some added depth than I think the cover might lead readers to believe.
