In THE JANE THING by Tracy Broemmer, Gideon Reece finds himself living with his sisterโ€™s best friend who is all sunshine and chatter. However, the more time we spend together, the more Iโ€™m realizing that Skye Stafford is different from any woman Iโ€™ve ever known, but I canโ€™t risk ruining her friendship with my sister. Fans of Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey will devour this must-read enemies to lovers, best friendโ€™s sibling romance from the Meet Cute Book Club Series.

The Meet Cute Book Club Series

by Tracy Broemmer

Blurb:

When my best friend asks me to put her brother up at my place for a while, Iโ€™m totally on board. After all, I practically grew up in Chloe and Gideonโ€™s house, so I used to kind of know him. Those childhood memories donโ€™t compare to the real Gideon Reece when he shows up ready to be my temporary roommate. Heโ€™s grown into a smoking hot guy complete with tattoos, rakish-looking hair, and a face that looks like art. Too bad heโ€™s a pompous jerk.

My sisterโ€™s best friend is going to drive me crazy before my stay here is over. Sheโ€™s prettier than I remember, but sheโ€™s all sunshine and chatter, like she thinks weโ€™re going to be besties while Iโ€™m here. Spoiler alert: weโ€™re not. Iโ€™m here to secure a job and find a place to live, and in the meantime, I have no interest in palling around with Skye Stafford.

Then why did I kiss her? Probably the same reason I canโ€™t get her off my mind. Sheโ€™s completely different from any woman Iโ€™ve ever known, and to my regret, I canโ€™t get enough of her. I have to keep my hands to myself, because Iโ€™d never forgive myself if I came between Chloe and Skye.

โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€

Frame in one hand and my hammer in the other, I stop just inside my bedroom and look at Gideon.

โ€œWhatโ€™s it look like?โ€

My sarcasm flies out the window when he tips his head like heโ€™s actually thinking about it. I feel the heat from his intense stare as it travels up over my black heels and bare legs and skinny gray pencil skirt. What had he called it last night? Corporate getup?

โ€œKinda like an eighties music video,โ€ he answers with a shrug. โ€œMaybe porn.โ€

Stunned by his answer, I take half a second to wonder if Iโ€™m offended. The laugh pops out before I make up my mind. I hold out the hammer and twist it this way and that and finally shudder when I look back at him.

โ€œIโ€™m going to hang his picture.โ€ I turn my back on him and put the frame and hammer down on my bed.

โ€œWant help?โ€

I peek at him over my shoulder and shake my head. โ€œNo thanks.โ€

โ€œWell, I mean, you canโ€™t just hammer a nail in a wall and be done with it. You have to measure, so youโ€™re not crooked.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not crooked,โ€ I promise him. I kick off my heels and lead him to the spot on the wall Iโ€™ve already measured and marked. โ€œI did that first.โ€

Rather than look at the spot on the wall, Gideon studies me. Up close to him like this, I smell his cologne. Something woodsy but not overpowering. He also smells like old books or at least an old buildingโ€”like the mix of paper and dust.

โ€œDid you work late?โ€ he asks me, and when I shake my head, he asks, โ€œwhy are you still dressed like that?โ€

Wow. He really does have an issue with professional attire.

โ€œHad a date,โ€ I answer. I left my nail out on the counter, so I go to get it. When I come back in, Gideonโ€™s looking around my room. My cheeks heat with embarrassment when I see a lacey black bra tossed over the nightstand. He looks at me again with narrowed eyes, as if heโ€™s trying to work out if I brought my date home and slept with him and forgot to put my bra on when I got dressed again.

โ€œA date.โ€

โ€œMm-hmm.โ€ I stick the nail between my teeth and eye the spot I marked earlier with a pencil.

โ€œWith who?โ€

โ€œMel Kavanaugh.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t know him.โ€

โ€œNo kidding.โ€ I speak around the nail in my teeth and roll my eyes. โ€œHe works at the bank.โ€

โ€œThat your type?โ€ I wouldnโ€™t swear to it, but he sounds disappointed.

โ€œWill you gimme the hammer?โ€ Nail still between my teeth, I hold my hand out and nod my thanks when he puts the hammer on my palm. Taking the nail out of my teeth, I lean closer to the wall and tap it gently with the hammer.

โ€œDid you use a stud finder?โ€

โ€œFor the date? No.โ€ I shake my head. โ€œMaybe that was the problem.โ€

I have to look at him when I hear his soft laugh.

โ€œI meant for the nail.โ€ He points at the wall. โ€œIโ€™m surprised you can use nails in a new apartment.โ€

โ€œLandlord thinks that sticky stuff is the devilโ€™s invention. Told me to hammer as much as I want.โ€

Gideonโ€™s eyebrows shoot up to his hairline as his face crinkles with laughter.

โ€œTell me you meant to say that.โ€

โ€œTotally did,โ€ I promise him.

Hold Onto the Stars

A Blind Date Romance

Blue Collar Romance series

by Tracy Broemmer

Blurb:

From author Tracy Broemmer comes a blue collar, blind date romance with a fun twist, a sassy heroine, and a happily ever after.

CJ Everhartโ€”small town girl, licensed electrician, professional sports fan. With her thirtieth birthday in the rearview mirror, CJ canโ€™t help but wonder if thereโ€™s more to life than what small-town Oak Bend, Michigan has to offer. Nothing about CJ is what the people of Oak Bend would call traditional from her blue-collar roots and reputation as one of the townโ€™s best electricians, to her thoughts on what she really needs in a relationship. Sheโ€™s not the kind of girl who needs flowers or other silly romantic gestures, and her ideal future bucks the small-town script of marriage, babies, and soccer-mom minivans.

Peyton Quinnโ€”big city guy, elementary school teacher, new to small-town living. Transplanted from a Chicago suburb, Peyton moves to Oak Bend for a change of paceโ€”oh, and to hide from his well-meaning family. Enter a well-meaning friend who sets him up with the perfect blind date. Too bad she doesnโ€™t hold a candle to the mysterious Tigers fan that he ran into in a local sports bar.

When their paths cross, sparks fly between CJ and Peyton. CJ doesnโ€™t deny the attraction, though she insists sheโ€™s not the kind of woman Peyton needs. But the more theyโ€™re around each other, the more Peyton believes fate brought them together.

Can Peyton convince CJ they were made for each other and the sky is the limit for their love if they can hold onto the stars?

Excerpt:

CJ tried to keep her eyes off him. After all, he was Violetโ€™s date. Never mind the fact that he was the best-looking guy in the bar, the most interesting thing to happen in Oak Bend since Sherry brought in the Fifty Shades of Grey series to their little local library, and currently leaning over the pool table, putting some prime all-American male on display. CJ let her eyes roam over his arms, the way his shirt bunched up a bit over his biceps.  One of his hands rested on the green felt, propping the pool cue, while the other held the cue loosely as he eyed his shot.

Cheeks hot, she dragged her eyes over his backsideโ€”she liked a man who filled out his jeans the way he didโ€”and glanced at Violet, ready to beg for forgiveness. But Violet had her back to the table, talking to a few guys they had gone to school with. CJ looked back at Peyton when she heard the clack of the cue ball. She watched two solids drop into the corner pocket, totally unprepared when he looked up and hit her with that intense gaze.

โ€œLucky shot,โ€ he said around a sheepish grin.

CJ simply smiled and watched him study the table for his next shot. When he did finally step closer to the table and lean, she let out a quiet groan. Embarrassed, she bit her lip when he straightened and looked at her in askance.

โ€œWhat?โ€

โ€œNothing.โ€ She shook her head.

โ€œCโ€™mon.โ€ He turned to her and tipped his head. โ€œWhatโ€™re you thinking?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s not your best shot,โ€ she mumbled.

โ€œNo?โ€ He looked back at the table with a frown.

โ€œYouโ€™re not at a good angle.โ€

Uncomfortable under his intense scrutiny when he shifted his gaze back to her, CJ grabbed her beer and drained it.

โ€œThe two ball is less than an inch off the corner pocket,โ€ he told her.

And that less than an inch would mean he would miss the shot, but she simply shrugged and nodded to the table. With her beer gone, Violet still engaged in conversation, and nothing to do with her hands, CJ folded her arms over her chest and watched Peyton take the shot. It wasnโ€™t pretty, but after a second of bumping around, it dropped into the pocket.

โ€œWhat shot would you have taken?โ€ he asked her as he eyed the table again.

โ€œThe five at the side,โ€ she answered without hesitation. He swung his gaze to the five and shrugged, but he nodded. The last shot had left him with nothing good this time, so CJโ€™s eyes wandered over his backside again.

โ€œYouโ€™re dry.โ€

CJ stared at him blankly when he joined her at the high-top table. Watching the fluid motion of his body moving around the table had been entertaining, and while her panties hadnโ€™t melted, she was aroused enough to feel flustered by his comment.
