It was straight out of a rom-com—until two pink lines changed everything.
Zander Shaw is country music’s hottest star. So, when he singled me out of a packed arena and had me pulled backstage, I should’ve known I wasn’t his forever. One signed NDA later, I was sneaking onto his tour bus, wrapped up in his world, and him. But it ended before it really started when he ghosted me.
Then he shows up on my family’s ranch to film his new music video, a surprise to us both. Now I’m his appointed tour guide around the ranch, stuck sharing all my favorite places with the man who carelessly discarded me.
The more time we spend together, the harder it is to guard my heart because his flirty half-smile makes me forget my anger. But Zander’s made it clear, he’s not looking to ride out into the sunset with anyone.
Which would be fine… if I wasn’t carrying his baby.

Ya know, I should know better than to think ‘oh it’s going to be another surprise pregnancy / commitment shy or troubled main character / whatever’ book when it has Piper Rayne on the cover. I really enjoyed these two together – the insta love, the baby, even the back and forth with Zander’s issues. (I just wanted to give the man a big ol’ hug!)
Because Zander definitely has some issues left over from being a foster kid. Add in his hectic, in the public eye lifestyle and it has him struggling with how to proceed once he realizes he’s caught feelings. Throw in a kid and that man is destined for a breakdown.
And even tho there is no surprise where their issues are going to come from, it works for me. Luckily he has the support of his best friend, Beau, and of course ALL the Plain Daisy crew. It takes him a while to get his head on straight but with some love and patience and a few figurative kicks to the hiney he eventually figures it out 🙂
There’s a reason Piper Rayne is on my must read list and it shows from start to finish here. So much of the feels (heartache and sweet moments alike), steaminess, humor, and love from family, both born & found. They are one of my favorite authors and keep me coming back for more.
When workaholic best man Carter arrives in Mistletoe Falls for his best friends’ Christmas wedding, a town-wide Santa Festival and a misplaced motel reservation leave him with one option—beg the woman he once rejected for a room at her bed-and-breakfast. Unfortunately, that woman also happens to be the bride’s sister…and the maid of honor.
To make matters worse, the bride and groom are delayed, turning Ashley and Carter into last-minute wedding planners, forced into a truce neither of them wants. But late-night checklists, a blizzard of holiday activities, and a charming small town turn their snark into sparks.
When they get snowed in and every near-kiss feels dangerously close to something real, Carter realizes there’s more to December than year-end deadlines.
As their truce melts, one question remains—is this a holiday fling, or the start of forever?

Review:
I love this time of year, with all of the holiday romances full of quirky seasonal fun and the opportunity for a little magic. And Piper Rayne has done a good job of bringing all that and more. Those who have read their other holiday stories will likely be delighted for Carter from Claus and Effect & Merry Kissmas to find his own HEA. (Although this can totally stand on its own if this is your first.)
Carter made less than a stellar impression on Ashley after their one & only date and it makes sense why she would be hesitant to give him a second chance. The timing and circumstances for the end of their previous encounter was … so much less than ideal. But it was fun seeing Carter try to win Ashley’s favor again. He’s a good man, with a big heart and a playful side, and it doesn’t take long for her to see it.
Like the previous books, this one has fun holiday moments, silly hijinks (although not as many as before), steam, and feels. There is a bit of insta-love with the timing, which is kinda standard for this kind of story. But if you take out how many days the book covers, I feel like the pacing of it is well done. Yes it’s like a week or so from beginning to end but for me they were able to spend quality time together, getting to know each other and falling in love. It’s sweet, and that’s what I want from a Christmas read, not realism.
It was over between Bennett Owens and me—until I had no place to go but back to Willowbrook.
Seven years ago, he walked away, and I built a new life for myself, swearing never to look back. But when my husband is arrested, that life collapses, leaving my daughter and me with nothing but a three-month plan to return to the small ranch town before disappearing again.
Bennett’s a single dad now. Our girls become inseparable on sight, making it impossible to keep him at arm’s length. Especially when I end up working alongside him, where every glance chips away at the walls I’ve built.
The years apart haven’t dulled the pull between us. Bennett remains protective and patient, determined to prove that we deserve a second chance. But he has no idea about the secret I’ve kept since the day he left.
Because once he learns the truth, he may never forgive me. And like it or not, we’ll be bound together forever—by the daughter he never knew was his.

**Spoilers ahead, kinda sorta since we know pretty early on what’s going on**
I am very conflicted about this one. I love Piper Rayne’s writing. Their characters are always detailed, the way they relate to each other is so good. The plot always flows well, with the right pacing and dotted with hints that have me intrigued on the next one. And, as I said in Chasing Forever, I adore this family.
Coming into this one, I loved Bennett too and have been looking forward to his story but I’m not really sure I was with him (and especially his family) on how he reacts to Delaney’s return and all that that brings to his door. Early on Bennett was super harsh to her, and that was before he finds out her not so little secret.
(And a smaller issue, but so odd to me, why are we getting their history in the form of letters to Delaney’s HUSBAND IN PRISON? It’s just strange that she would share some of those details in writing to him.)
How can they be OK with what she did? She tries to explain, and I can kiiiiinda understand why she does what she does … but yeah, no. There definitely needed to be more to her why, a little bit of something else for it to be realistic. I get that she was hurt but come on.
I hate hate hate when one of Piper Rayne’s stories doesn’t work for me. It rarely happens and I’m always so conflicted about it because while I can’t get behind the characters actions & reactions, I enjoy the way it feels. I don’t think that makes sense … but they are talented and one of my favs, one of those that are an automatic download for me. Just sometimes they go somewhere I can’t follow, I guess.
It was a fun Vegas getaway—until I woke up married to my ex-fiancé’s brother.
After Watson brother #1 ditched me at the altar, I stopped believing in happily-ever-afters. So I have no clue how I ended up saying “I do” to Brooks—Watson brother #2—somewhere between tequila shots and bad decisions. Okay, that may not be true.
Sheriff Watson has been a charming thorn in my side ever since his brother left our small ranch town in his rearview mirror. He’s a little too steady, a little too sweet, and way too intuitive because he sees through my facade. But no matter how tempting he is, he’s still a Watson.
I demand an annulment. He refuses, bargaining four real dates before he signs.
Fine. I’ll sabotage each one and keep my heart safely locked away. It’s easier this way because he has no idea the secret I’m keeping.
Of course, Brooks doesn’t go down easy—he has enough faith for both of us. He tackles my fears at every turn, making me wonder what would happen if I went all in.
But trusting the wrong man once nearly ruined me—doing it again might finish the job.
I loved me some Brooks! He’s so sincere and understanding, a little bit naughty, and oh-so-caring. He’s willing to give Lottie the time and space she needs but also knows that she needs to be pushed occasionally to get out of her own way. I couldn’t get enough of his patience with her and their situation. He’s loved her for so long, knows her, and is willing to work for a chance with her.
Lottie has some understandable baggage from her relationship with the other Watsons and it’s kept her from committing not only to Brooks but to any guy. Little too much alcohol and the right time & place has some desires that she’s kept hidden, and refused to acknowledge, coming to the surface. And while she might fight it, even she knows that her heart isn’t really in it.
I’ve lived in a small town and I totally understand why she would feel like they were constantly judging her and talking about her and that she wouldn’t be willing to put herself out there any more. And the hurt she carries from her called off marriage, and the reaction of certain people, have her imagining judgement where none exists, which has her afraid to put herself out there more. But Brooks isn’t going to let her hide forever.
My heart broke for both Brooks & Lottie and what they had to go through because of members of his family. The choices they had to make and the repercussions of Lottie’s failed relationship … it’s not easy to get past but they have each other & everyone at Plain Daisy Ranch to get them through it. That big, boisterous, nosy family loves loud, supports loud, & gives each other a hard time loud and it makes for a great read & HEA.
Sleeping with the best man at my cousin’s wedding felt right at the time—he was a hot, available firefighter, and I was the tipsy maid of honor. It’s a rite of passage.
No regrets… until two pink lines flipped my world upside down.
Now I’m wildly unprepared and trying to hide my pregnancy in my small Alaskan town where privacy is a myth and gossip spreads faster than frostbite.
But wait, it gets worse.
Baby Daddy just came back to town—with a fiancée in tow.
And guess who she wants to plan their wedding?
Me.
Keeping the secret was hard enough.
Keeping my distance from the father of my baby? Impossible.
Just when I think I have it all figured out, he reveals his own secret that changes everything.
Author’s Note: There is no cheating in this book. Gasp! We would never.
This is such a slow burn. There’s confusion early on about what’s going on with Finn and why he’s back in town. (No cheating, they promised.) And I have such respect for how well Harper carries herself during those meetings. I don’t know that I could have done it. And props to Finn for doing the right thing (for him) when he needed to. It was so enjoyable seeing them get to know each other and figure out how to be co-parents.
I liked Harper – her insecurities and fear of the future as a mom. And I loved how Finn does so much to show her support and help her see herself as more than capable. He’s so good at pulling her out of her self-doubt spirals. So sweet!
Piper Rayne is a must read for me. The characters are always so well done – they feel like friends, people that are real and are making realistic decisions. Sometimes difficult & sometimes wrong, but always relatable. As always, looking forward eagerly to what comes next!
(Part of a series but Piper Rayne does a good job of making sure that you have all the needed info for each story so you can read them in any order.)

Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling Author duo who write “heartwarming humor with a side of sizzle” about families, whether that be blood or found. They both have e-readers full of one-clickable books, they’re married to husbands who drive them to drink, and they’re both chauffeurs to their kids. Most of all, they love hot heroes and quirky heroines who make them laugh, and they hope you do, too!
Since then, Tweetie Sorenson has embraced the professional hockey player bachelor lifestyle—his social media is a highlight reel of clubs, friends, and a never-ending stream of different women.
It’s hard to believe he’s the same man who stole my heart the very night we met. With him, everything felt wild, spontaneous, and absolutely perfect. I thought he was my forever.
Then, he broke my heart. Or maybe we broke each other’s. Either way, it was over.
I’ve moved on—new city, dream job—until my boss throws me back into Tweetie’s world. I’m sent to Chicago to manage the Falcons’ social media, which means working alongside the one man I never truly let go of. FML.

Review:
I love this series (and pretty much everything that Piper Rayne gives me). I’ve been curious about Tweetie as we’ve worked thru the other stories … and I’m so sad that this one was my least favorite. The last half or so was great, exactly what I’d expect.
But early on, especially the journal entries, things were occasionally awkward. Part of it may be the bouncing back and forth in time. Plus I think maybe we needed a good reminder that these two were young when they first got together, with a lot of baggage from their childhoods. Although even in the present they make some choices that seemed a little … juvenile.
Buuuut, saying that, I loved that Tweetie finally got his girl and Tedi is a good match for him. I felt for him every step of the way, how he has to work with his abandonment issues and need to be wanted. The glimpses of the deeper guy that we’ve gotten over the other stories make so much sense.
As with all of the others, it’s the friendships between the guys and now their partners that elevate these stories. They love big and bold and with a lot of heart. I love seeing them support each other, tease but at the same time truly care about each other. And Tweetie & Tedi need all they can get.
There’s a lot of pain and yearning and hurt and want all wrapped up with these two and having to spend time together means that it doesn’t take long for all of that to bubble over. My heart went out to both of them as they struggle with those feelings and have to decide if they can trust in themselves & each other.
We get a look at baseball players Decker & Easton throughout this story and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens when the guys move into the condos above Peepers. Looks like Ruby may have her hands full 🙂

At least, that’s what I thought—until I met Conor Nilsen. In truth, I didn’t know he was the goalie for the Chicago Falcons when he struck up a conversation the night of my bachelorette party.
He proved he wasn’t just some hot guy looking to score when he helped me get my drunk bridesmaid safely back to our hotel. That’s when he discovered my 30-before-30 bucket list—a list I hadn’t managed to check a single item off.
What was meant to be a night of stargazing turned into so much more. The chemistry between us was undeniable, and after one innocent night together, I started to question everything—especially my upcoming wedding to a man I wasn’t sure loved me.
Fast forward to my wedding day, and just as I’m standing at the altar, Conor bursts through the church doors to object. And now, somehow, I’m his roommate. Yikes.

Review:
Piper Rayne just keeps getting better and better. Just like the previous stories, the found family part of this is just the best. I love how the guys have each other’s backs and now that each is finding their other half, the women are connecting as well. This shows so well with the help and support they provide to both Conor and Eloise.
And I SO ah-dored these two together.
Eloise is working her way to figuring out who she is and what she wants out of life. She spent years with a man who didn’t love and support her the way he should have. Then she meets Conor. And, for not having had a serious relationship before, he is the best at it. He doesn’t always make the best decisions, but he’s earnest, funny, and all in with his support of Eloise. He so much wants to build her up and keep her spirits up. It’s just the sweetest.
We know that these two are going to end up together, since it is their book, but I appreciated the journey to getting there. It isn’t easy thanks to the way they met, who Conor is, and Eloise’s journey. With patience, love, and the support of their friends, they eventually figure things out.
(Part of a series, but can be ready on its own.)

I’ve loved Henry Hensley since I was seven years old. We’ve gone from best friends to lovers to nothing.
To most people, he’s the Chicago Falcons starting right winger and hot single dad, but to me, he’s my first boyfriend, my first kiss, my first love.
Eight years ago, that all changed when our lives took us in two different directions. Our break-up almost broke me, so I kept my distance until our hometown called me back to where our story began.
I promised myself a quick visit to help my family out, and then I’d leave town before he even knew I was back, which should have been easy. He’s way too busy being a professional hockey player and raising his son to ever find out.
Of course, I’m only in town for a week before I run into him, and one thing is clear from our brief encounter—Henry wants to hash out our past, whereas I’d rather forget it.
But my plan really goes up in flames when I take a temporary substitute teaching job, and on day one, his son walks into my classroom. Boom.

Review:
I was so happy to see Henry find his HEA. He’s such an old soul – serious about his family, his friends, and his sport. He was such a delightful part of Mr. Heartbreaker as he provided guidance and a level-head to the others. They call him Daddy for a reason (and not an “ewww” one) as he’s the father figure to more in the group than just Bodhi. But now that he’s got a second chance with the only woman he’s ever loved, their love & attraction still as strong as ever, he’s struggling to take it slow 🙂
While his connection to Jade is lovely, it’s his obvious love and care for Bodhi that is swoony. Bodhi is just as much an old soul as Henry but with the enthusiasm of a child. I loved getting his side in a few chapters and it is relatable how badly he wants a woman’s influence in his life. Enter Jade as his substitute teacher – obviously someone important to his dad in the past – what could be better?
I feel for Jade. I totally understand why she’s stayed away for so long and why she’s hesitant to see Henry again, knowing how strong her feelings for him are still. It had to be hard balancing that pull with trying to figure out where she’s going with her life. Now she’s finding herself at a crossroads again, unsure of who she wants to be, and realizing that their feelings for each other are still just as strong as ever … Can they make it work?
Looking from the outside I think there could have been a better way to handle it all those years ago, but I get where they are coming from and why they would think the way they did. While I don’t feel like Jade’s issues were completely resolved, and I really needed that clarity moment about whether staying is right, I know we’ll see more of them over the next couple of books to get some of those answers.
Seeing them together tho is *chefs kiss*
I love the guys in The Nest – the way they each have their strengths that they bring to the group and how they are there to support one another, never failing to show up, from listening & providing advice to giving each other heck to being there for Bodhi. It’s sweet and wholesome and I love seeing them find someone to share their lives with, bringing them into the fold. I’m so looking forward to what’s coming next for them!

Six years ago, he was her one-night stand, and now they’re sharing a villa for the holidays.
I thought I was over him. That his good looks and British accent couldn’t affect me anymore. But the minute our eyes lock across the elevator, all those feelings come roaring back to life.
Then I find out we’re competing for the same job.
Next comes the realization that we have to spend a week together on a ski vacation because of some six-degree-of-separation nonsense.
The real kicker is when I find out the two of us have to share a villa. A very small, very cozy villa.
Needless to say, this Christmas getaway is starting off rockier than the mountains we’ll be skiing down.
I’ve stayed away for years, what’s one week? But I forgot how much easier it is to ignore him with an ocean separating us—especially when he’s determined to win me back.
Merry Kissmass is mostly light-hearted, with a few moments of seriousness as we get to know Pierce a little more, and definitely contains more than a hint of insta-love. Readers need to be OK with that, because the holidays really do work their magic as Brynn & Pierce reconnect and fall in love all over again. Piper Rayne gave me exactly what I was looking for in an end of year romance – holiday fun, stickily sweet with family hijinks, all tied up with a HEA bow.

I made a deal with my brother a long time ago to never date his teammates.
Technically, Rowan Landry, the hot as hell center for the Chicago Falcons, is no longer my brother’s teammate. Or his best friend. Their college days are long behind them, and they barely talk now.
Also, I’m not dating him—we’re just sleeping together. There’s a difference.
Except there’s not a lot of sleeping going on, and neither one of us wants to stop what we’re doing.
It’s all fun and games until my brother is traded to the Falcons, because Rowan doesn’t know I’m the new goalie’s little sister. Oops.

Review:
Mr. Heartbreaker is quite the steamy start to the newest series by Piper Rayne. They pretty much fall into bed right away and stay there for quite a bit of the story … not that I’m complaining 🙂
I will say that the fact that we know that Kyleigh is lying to Rowan from the start, knowing exactly how it’s going to blow up in her face, made it a little difficult of a read for me. I’m not a huge fan of lying in my romances, but Piper Rayne does a good job of balancing the drama. Kyleigh has an issue with confrontation and dealing with her problems (one of the reasons she ends up in Rowan’s bed in the first place and really doesn’t bode well for a smooth future for them) so it makes sense why she does what she does. I do think that Rowan had the right to be a bit more upset by the whole thing but he’s understanding and forgiving and willing to work things out.
There aren’t a lot of surprises in Mr. Heartbreaker but there is the Piper Rayne charm on full display. They definitely know how to give their readers humor, fun characters, and plenty of steam. Getting to know these guys has me more than ready for what comes next.
