I’ve mentioned before how much I love this time of year because holiday romances are some of my favs.  So how can I not love a whole collection of them?!?!

And even better, one of the authors – McKenna Grey – stopped by to answer just a few questions for us and share an inside look into a couple of the stories.  One of these is sure to whet your appetite for a good Christmas-time read!

*****

What do you like best about writing romances?

All of my romances tend to have a central theme—hope. I like bringing together two people who have either struggled on their own or together, to find their happily-ever-after. That moment when they discover, “This is it,” is beautiful and powerful. The journey and discovery is what I like most.

What is your favorite romantic story?

I can’t get enough of Pride and Prejudice.

If you could be any romantic character, who would it be and why?

I’m going to have to say Brenna in Gallagher’s Pride (written by my historical alter-ego). She’s from Scotland, has some pretty grand adventures, and she gets Ethan Gallagher.

Which of your characters/books was the most fun to write?

I’ve enjoyed them all equally. The Dragon’s Staircase, a romantic thriller, was a lot of fun because of all the action and suspense, but I enjoyed just as much writing the sweet Christmas stories.

If you weren’t a writer and could be anything you want, what would it be?

Christmas Romance: Second Chances

Four heartwarming stories. One romantic Christmas escape.

McKensie’s Christmas Gift by McKenna Grey

When McKensie Scott returns to Wycliffe, Wyoming, she’s uncertain of her future . . . and the man she left behind two summers before. With the help of an unexpected ally, McKensie will discover that sometimes leaving the people you love is the only way to find your path home.

Romancing His Wife by Everly Archard

After marrying the love of her life, Cassidy Hart never imagined her perfect marriage would fall apart. When the time comes to keep a promise and be the maid of honor at her sister-in-law’s wedding in Lake Tahoe, she doesn’t expect all the pieces of her wounded heart to come together in one magical week.

Mending Her Heart by Everly Archard

Mia Rivera returns home to the quaint New England village of Wind Hollow, Maine, to heal and spend Christmas with her aunt . . . until her childhood friend, Liam Sawyer, re-enters her life. This holiday season, Mia and Liam will need to look to their past to find hope for their future.

Christmas in Moose Creek by McKenna Grey

Saige Travers said goodbye to Owen McGregor sixteen years ago. A spontaneous choice brings Saige home to Moose Creek, Montana, and she doesn’t expect her past to catch up with her present. When Owen walks back into her life, she struggles to remember why she left. Together they discover second chances are real and hope is a cherished gift.

Can eight willing hearts find a second chance at love? Join us this holiday season and fall in love like it was the first time.

Excerpts:

From “McKensie’s Christmas Gift”

The fog cleared from McKensie’s brain. “And knowing my aunt, she insisted you have the wedding here.”

“Yeah. I thought about moving the location, but Shirley insisted we still have it at the hotel, and Olivia—”

“Wouldn’t have wanted you to change a thing. I get it. Yes, you’ll have it here.” McKensie prided herself on handling tense situations, a handy talent when managing a kitchen. She avoided looking at Cameron throughout her conversation with Julie and realized he hadn’t moved, patient as ever. “When is the wedding?”

“The week before Christmas.”

McKensie raised a brow and studied her friend. “That’s fast.”

Julie shrugged. “When it’s right, it’s right. That reminds me, I have one more thing to ask Shirley about the food. Meet you in the foyer in ten, big brother.” She stopped at the door and pointed to McKensie. “I will call you tomorrow. We have so much to catch up on.”

Julie exited the office with as much excitement as she entered. McKensie replayed some of her last words over in her mind. When it’s right, it’s right.

From “Romancing His Wife”

“You doing okay?”  Michael asked from the mirror behind Dominic. After the girls left, Michael, David, and Dominic stopped in town to pick up their tuxedoes and run a few final errands. He wanted more than anything to spend every moment he could with Cassie, but he had responsibilities that demanded his attention. In good time, he promised himself.

Dominic raised an inquisitive brow at his brother. “Why do you ask?”

“Well, I mean, seeing Cassie,” said Michael.

He may have been younger, but he’d always been more thoughtful and perceptive than most people his age.

“When are you going to tell her?” he continued.

“About?”

“You know what I’m talking about.”

Dominic shrugged. “When the time is right.”

“I assume it will be before she leaves again?”

Dominic straightened the lapels of his jacket. “If she leaves again.”

A light hit Michael’s eyes and he smiled. “There’s the man I know. You’ve got a plan, then?”

“Absolutely.” Dominic slipped his hands into his pockets and smiled at his brother.  He had a plan all right. He needed to charm Cassie again and remind her of why they were right together.

Dominic refused to mess up what could be his last chance.
