Thought we’d take a closer look at SEALed in Texas. ย It is a crossover between Marissa Dobson’s SEALed for You series and Cat Johnson’s Hot SEALs, and is part of the Hot SEALs Kindle Worlds, which we saw a few weeks back.

by Marissa Dobson

A SEALed for You/Hot SEALs crossover novella for Cat Johnsonโ€™s Kindle World

Blurb:

After sustaining injuries in the line of duty, Trever Alexander was forced to leave his SEAL team and all he worked for. In the midst of considering a job offer with GAPS, he was thrown into an assignment, one that brought him face to face with the woman heโ€™d left behind.

One day Allyson Mason is living a normal, quiet life, and the next she is on the run. She doesnโ€™t know who or what sheโ€™s running from. All she knows is that if she wants to stay alive she has to keep moving. She calls the only person she knows that might be able to help.

Chased by both physical and mental horrors, Trever and Allyson must put their emotions aside and work together.

Excerpt:

She turned around to face Trever. โ€œI canโ€™t leave Texas.โ€

โ€œThe fuck you canโ€™t.โ€ He now stood near the window, his back still to her. โ€œYouโ€™re in danger here.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t you think I realize that?โ€ Her voice rose, which was better than giving in to the tears she wanted to shed. How had everything worked out like this? It was supposed to be a simple run to the store, then Anthony threw everything away and dragged her down with him.

โ€œNo, I donโ€™t.โ€ Trever turned back to look at her, his hand gesturing toward the door. โ€œOtherwise youโ€™d have been more careful. What the hell were you thinking, not even bothering to put the latch on the door? Are you hoping they catch you?โ€

โ€œIโ€ฆIโ€ฆdidnโ€™t thinkโ€ฆโ€ she stammered, knowing she had messed up. If Trever had gotten in without her hearing a sound, anyone could have. Someone else could have been waiting for her when she exited the shower completely unaware.

โ€œYouโ€™re right, you didnโ€™t think, and you could have gotten yourself killed.โ€

He stood there unmoving as if she went through this type of shit all the time. She was out of her element and she knew it. It was why sheโ€™d called Brier.

โ€œYouโ€™re the fucking SEAL, not me,โ€ she spat. โ€œItโ€™s not like I run for my life every other day. I donโ€™t know what the hell Iโ€™m doing!โ€ She sank down onto the bed again and stared at the floor. โ€œMaybe I shouldnโ€™t have run. If Iโ€™d stayed Iโ€”โ€

โ€œYouโ€™d be dead,โ€ He finished for her. He came around the bed to stand in front of her. โ€œA drug deal? Damn it, Allie, are you hooked on that shit?โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ She looked at him, blinking as she tried to adjust to the sudden swing in the conversation.

โ€œIf youโ€™re messed up on that shit I need to know. I canโ€™t have you strung out. In order to get you out of here I need you with a clear head.โ€

โ€œI thought you knew me better than that, Trever. I donโ€™t do drugs.โ€ Tired of her emotions pulling her in two different directions she forced herself to look away from him and let her gaze fall onto the duffel bag that held everything she now owned, which wasnโ€™t much. โ€œJust get out. I donโ€™t need your help.โ€

โ€œI think you do.โ€

โ€œYou left meโ€ฆโ€ The words were out before she could stop them. That simple statement was the root of the newest turmoil inside her and was the one reason she was rejecting his help, though she hadnโ€™t meant to verbalize it. She didnโ€™t want him to know that she still missed him.

โ€œThatโ€™s not what this is about.โ€

Author Info:

Born and raised in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, Marissa Dobson now resides about an hour from Washington, D.C. Sheโ€™s a lady who likes to keep busy, and is always busy doing something. With two different college degrees, she believes you are never done learning.

Being the first daughter to an avid reader, this gave her the advantage of learning to read at a young age. Since learning to read she has always had her nose in a book. It wasnโ€™t until she was a teenager that she started writing down the stories she came up with.

Marissa is blessed with a wonderful supportive husband, Thomas. Heโ€™s her other half and allows her to stay home and pursue her writing. He puts up with all her quirks and listens to her brainstorm in the middle of the night.

Her writing buddy Cameron (a cocker spaniel) is always around to listen to her bounce ideas off him. He might not be able to answer, but he’s helpful in his own ways.

#Synopsis:

Life is sweet in The Sanctuaryโ€”until Lillian Harris is thrown the curveball of her life.

Lillian is perfectly happy cocooned within the lofty perimeter fence of The Sanctuary. Her Sanctuaryโ€”a vast oasis for rescued lions, tigers, and elephants. The animals are her world. So when Lillianโ€™s dad tells her a nineteen-year-old criminal whoโ€™s fresh out of prison is coming to The Sanctuary as part of a rehabilitation program, Lillian is more than a little apprehensive. She interacts with animals more than humansโ€”and definitely not criminals.

Justice Armstrong is more arrogant than a Silverback, but something darker lurks behind his eyesโ€ฆ

It isnโ€™t until Justice swaggers toward her from the parole officerโ€™s carโ€”pierced, confident, and more than a little hotโ€”Lillian knows she has her work cut out for her. His stare has the power to rob her of all thoughts. His words, although crude and nefarious, bring a part of her to life she never knew existed. How is this criminal suddenly turning her world upside down?

He has the power to drag her to the dark side….

Pain is his drug of choice, a vice he canโ€™t survive without. Then he meets Lillian Harris. Little miss hellcat. Fiery, strong, and all woman. She challenges him at every damn turn, and watching her tame those fierce big cats makes his need for her that much stronger. He wants to do things to herโ€ฆwicked things. She makes him crave pain in a whole new way.

When a teen with a dark past bumps heads with a feisty rescue worker, will it be love over lustโ€”or a matter of life and death?

Where the fairy tale ends, destiny begins.

Elizabeth Tanner is no Tinkerbell, and her life is no fairy tale. Broke and drowning in student loans, the one thing she wants more than anything is a scholarship from the Trinity Foundation. But after the ancient Irish text she’s studying turns out to be more than just a book, she becomes their prisoner instead. And when Trinity reveals Elizabeth is half-Fae, she finds herself at the center of a plot to save the magical races of Ireland from a brutal civil war.

As Commander of Trinity’s elite warriors, Finn O’Connell isn’t used to having his authority challenged. He doesn’t know whether to punish or protect the infuriating young woman in his custody. When he discovers the Dark Fae want to use Elizabeth’s abilities to control the source of all power in the universe, he’ll risk everything to help her.

At the mercy of Trinity and enslaved to the Dark Fae, Elizabeth finds herself alone on the wrong side of an Irish myth thousands of years in the making.
